Our dear friend Shane Crash finished writing his first novel, called Forest Life. This summer, he wants to tour to promote and discuss it with you, as well as talk about film, literature, non-violence and social activism. In order to make this happen, he needs your help. Please consider helping him make this a reality - anything at all still gets him closer to the goal. Our old administrator, Sean, brought up recently that the site has slowed down a lot. This is indeed true, especially as the guys have quieted down for a bit while they work on Cancer.
This is our attempt to bring interest back into the RRM - Raw Rock Militia. While the site is Showbread’s street team and focuses heavily on the band, a lot of folks don’t realize that there’s a lot more to it than that. We’re a group of fans that have become family, and would like to extend an invitation to become part of it. We welcome those from any religion (or lack thereof), those of any sexuality, those of any opinion.
Remember, registration is free now, so regardless of how casual, hardcore, or non-existant a fan you are, RRM is always open to you. Almost all of the site and forums are available to every user, and we want you to be one of them. Those who do wish to donate will receive thanks in the form of very exclusive Showbread content and music (please email me if this is something that interests you). All donations are sent from us to Compassion International.
Through this, we hope to recreate the community and family that was and is the Raw Rock Militia. I’d also like to see us become more active as a street team as Cancer gets closer - I will find a way to make this worthwhile to those who are involved; whether it be free merch, unheard Showbread tunes, or more.

Want to help out some homeless folk?

The past few weeks I’ve resumed my aimless wanderings through the city streets between 3-6 A.M. I normally use this time to observe and contemplate. However, the past few nights have been considerably warmer than previous evenings and I’ve noticed more and more homeless folks throughout the city. Most of the people I speak with just can’t get into a shelter or continually miss the opportunity to make it to a shelter across town.
So I’ve decided to try and curve my aimless wandering to try and help out some of these folks. I’ll continue walking like I do most nights but I’m going to carry a large backpack filled with clothing and toiletries for anyone I come across who’s in need of these items. Obviously these can get very expensive and I won’t be able to sustain the necessary supplies for very long, at least not on my own. If you’d like to send supplies to help me help my homeless friends, feel free to message me for a shipping address to donate supplies. I don’t want your money. Items that folks generally need include:
WARM SOCKS (THIS IS A BIG ONE)
TOOTHBRUSHES/TOOTHPASTE
SHAMPOO/CONDITIONER
DEODORANT
MOUTHWASH
You get the idea. Feel free to contact me if you’re interested in helping out or if you have any questions.
Please consider what you may be able to do to help (whether it’s sending stuff to Shane (you can get in contact with him on his blog, here) or doing similar stuff in your own city). It’s one thing to share a link to your Facebook. It’s another to get yourself actively involved and make a difference in somebody’s life.
This might just be the most important thing you see all year. Make Kony famous. End LRA violence. #Kony2012
